SASHIKO

Centuries ago, in Japan, Sashiko was born.Like many textile techniques, it emerged out of necessity. Japanese workers patched their indigo-dyed garments with fabric scraps and stitched them together using simple running stitches.

Their sense of aesthetics led them to create an endless array of patterns, each rich with symbolism. Much like embroidery, Sashiko often concealed protective symbols or was intended to bring prosperity, sometimes used in rituals such as paired motifs for wedding ceremonies.

Sashiko and hand quilting are frequent elements in my quilts and smaller home textiles.

PERSONALIZED QUILT

A quilt makes a beautiful gift for a child leaving home to embark on their journey into the world.

It’s a heartfelt way to celebrate a special occasion, express gratitude, and share love.Such a gift will warm their heart—and their knees—for years to come.

Together, we'll choose the quilt's pattern and colours for the front. On the back, I can machine-embroider a few heartfelt words.

A larger quilt (approx. 110–140 x 170–200 cm) is perfect for covering up during sleep, watching movies, or even as a picnic blanket.A medium-sized quilt (approx. 90–140 x 120–160 cm) is ideal for draping over shoulders or knees while seated; you can also spread it out on a park bench. This size is also suitable for children's quilts.

For your four-legged friends, you can choose a smaller quilt that defines their territory on your living room sofa.
